Books for Latter-day Saints seeking to grow their testimony of Jesus Christ and His loving plan for our happiness and eternal salvation.
Hi! I'm an ordinary person with no special calling or credentials to set me apart as an expert on the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. But I am a devout student of the scriptures and the teachings of the living prophets, and I love to share what I know--in a book, in a crowd, one-on-one, or however the Holy Spirit directs.
I joined the church while in college, and after graduation, I served as a full-time missionary in Guatemala. I married my sweetheart in the Portland, Oregon temple, and we have three children, two grown and one in preschool. My husband works for Seminaries & Institutes, and I've had many callings over the years, most of which involved teaching. My favorites have been as a released-time seminary teacher, the choir director, and (now) as the chorister in Primary.
My books are short but packed with easy-to-digest spiritual nutrients. The goal is always to make the principles and doctrines of the scriptures more approachable, so that readers come away empowered with practical knowledge and skills as well as an abiding confidence that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are on their side, and they can do this thing called keeping on the covenant path!
This is a three-book series written for teens. Each is written in a conversational style and combines scripture accounts with personal anecdotes from my life. They tackle the themes of finding and nurturing a testimony, developing a joyful outlook on life, and coping with faith-shaking trials. They were developed out of firesides, girls' camp devotional presentations, or youth conference addresses I gave. So many people asked for my notes after these events that I decided to write things up and make the ideas available to anyone, anywhere.
BONUS: These are all available in AUDIO BOOK FORM!
This series is still in progress, with four more due by the end of 2026.
The premise for these books is that we can find greater relevance (and hope and joy) in the scriptures when we ask the right questions, and it doesn't have to take all day! Each book contains hundreds of questions (connected to specific verses) that help readers see how The Book of Mormon was totally written for our times--as a society, sure--but also for you and for me right now.
